I’m a fan of Diplo/Switch the creative team behind Major Lazer (M.I.A.’s ‘producers too!) and the main contributors to the sprinkling of Caribbean musical influences (mainly dancehall but they have posted several soca songs on their blog- maddecent.com) into the American pop music culture. Shala you should also check out Diplo’s southrakkas crew mixtapes. There is a great record which a showcases a fusion of dancehall and experimental indie (southrakkas + deerhoof).
